Research potential suppliers among trade show exhibitors and arrive with a focused comparison list and useful qualification questions.
When to use this workflow
Use this guide when sourcing a new supplier category, comparing potential manufacturers or distributors, or preparing supplier meetings before a trade show. Start with a written purchasing requirement so company selection is consistent.
Before you start
Review the event preview and available data before paying to unlock it. Event Access and Full Access include different sources; Visitor access requires an active paid subscription and available Visitor coverage. Contact reveal and message generation are separate actions. Review the current access and Credit cost shown in Lensmor before confirming.
Separate supplier discovery from supplier approval
Discovery criteria. Use company descriptions, industry, location, and public product context to identify potential matches.
Commercial criteria. Keep target specifications, delivery markets, order size, and purchasing timeline in your own sourcing brief.
Verification criteria. Ask suppliers for certification evidence, samples, quality processes, capacity, and references as required by your procurement process. An event record does not verify them.
Contact responsibility. Identify a relevant commercial role where covered, then confirm who can answer technical and purchasing questions.
Step-by-step workflow
Define the sourcing requirement. Write down your product category, supplier profile, delivery market, and purchasing priorities. Find industry events that fit those requirements and inspect their available company coverage.
Review potential suppliers. Open Exhibitors and examine company descriptions, websites, locations, categories, and source links. Use compatible filters and save a Target Group for repeated sourcing research. Review actual matches at each show.
Prepare qualification questions. Compare public company and product context against your requirements. Keep specifications, certifications, minimum order quantities, pricing, delivery capacity, and lead times as questions to confirm directly—not assumed verified Lensmor fields.
Contact and compare selected suppliers. Use Attendees to identify relevant commercial or business-development roles where covered. Reveal selected contact details and export your shortlist. Ask about meeting availability, then use your own procurement process to evaluate samples, quality, terms, and delivery before purchasing.
For the detailed controls, see Work with Exhibitors and Attendees and Save and Reuse Target Groups. Follow Reveal and Enrich Contact Data and Export Contacts when activating your shortlist.
What to prepare
Prepare supplier, product-category fit, company website, event source, relevant contact, unanswered sourcing requirements, and next qualification action.
Build a comparison-ready supplier brief
For each shortlisted company, record the product-category match, website, event source, relevant contact, requirements not yet verified, and next action. Use a separate comparison sheet or procurement system to track answers.
A supplier is ready for a meeting request when you can explain the sourcing need and ask specific questions. It is not ready for approval until your own technical, commercial, and quality checks are complete.
Common questions
Can I reuse the same sourcing filters at another show?
Yes. Save compatible company filters in a Target Group, then review the matches for each event. Empty results may reflect saved criteria or coverage.
Does Lensmor provide current prices or validate certifications?
No. Request quotations and supporting evidence directly from suppliers and evaluate them through your own procurement process.
Example
A packaging distributor can prioritize exhibitors whose public product range matches food packaging, then ask each supplier to confirm specifications, certification evidence, order minimums, and delivery markets. This is an illustrative workflow, not a customer result.
Check the evidence and limitations
Exhibitor sources connect companies to events. Signals reflect public event-related activity, not confirmed registration. Visitors are organizer or data-partner records where available. Historical attendance and enriched contacts do not establish future attendance, interest, or purchase intent. Review the attendee source guide before making claims in outreach.
Lensmor is not a supplier certification, quality audit, live quotation system, or purchasing marketplace. An event listing does not verify product quality, capacity, commercial terms, or an individual’s meeting availability.
